Summary
In FY25, SEEK's Small Change Program was approaching its 10th anniversary. Although well-supported, it had become a 'set and forget' initiative. There was an opportunity to reignite employee engagement, highlight the program’s positive impact, and increase awareness amidst a growing employee base and a tough economic climate.
Success Factors
By introducing a 'Small Change Challenge' to create a tangible way to visualize employee contributions and dollar matching, along with appointing program ambassadors to increase engagement.
Now in its tenth year, Small Change continues to grow stronger. Our employees support this initiative through payroll giving, with SEEK matching their contributions dollar for dollar. We are constantly finding new ways to engage and connect our people with the positive impact they make every day.

About SEEK
SEEK was founded and headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, SEEK has grown into a multinational technology company with over 3,300 employees and is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. With a strong commitment to social responsibility, SEEK has been recognized for creating a positive impact within the community through its innovative initiatives. The Challenge
As SEEK's Small Change Program approached its 10th anniversary, it faced the challenge of becoming a 'set and forget' initiative. Whilst SEEK's participation in the giving program was exceptional, the program needed to reignite employee engagement, increase awareness, and highlight its positive impact amidst a growing employee base and a tough economic climate.
The Solution
To tackle this challenge, SEEK embarked on a strategic overhaul of the Small Change Program. They introduced the 'Small Change Challenge,' a creative and tangible way to visualize employee contributions and dollar matching, fostering pride and engagement. A giant pink telephone box was installed in the main atrium at SEEK HQ and was filled with coloured balls throughout the year. Each ball represented $50 donated via payroll giving or fundraising, with hot pink balls symbolising SEEK’s dollar matching contributions.
Additionally, the introduction of 'Small Change Ambassadors' played a pivotal role in deepening connections with charity partners and amplifying the program's impact. Volunteers were enlisted to represent one of SEEK's ten charity partners.
The refreshed strategy was supported and endorsed by the CEO.
The Results
The transformation of the Small Change Program led to remarkable results. Donations reached a record $571,046.37 in FY24, marking a 25.5% increase from the previous year. The program also surpassed $3 million in total donations since its inception. Employee engagement surged, highlighted by 17,700 views and interactions on Slack posts during Workplace Giving Month and a 200% year-on-year increase in internal stories published.
