Ruth has strategically integrated the Staff Giving program into the core functions of
the university’s human resources and organisational development strategies. She has championed initiatives that encourage widespread participation by directly engaging with staff, both academic and professional, at all of department staff meetings, created awareness campaigns through staff newsletters, morning teas and to emphasis her points, took on the role as a pirate, spruiking the benefits of Staff Giving to the executive team and board, resulting in additional sign-ups.
Ruth also employs her academic expertise to research and implement best practices, ensuring that the Staff Giving program is both effective and sustainable. Her leadership extends beyond the university, as she actively promotes workplace giving in academic and professional forums such as the Association for Tertiary Management (ATEM) where she recently delivered an impactful presentation, contributing to the
broader discourse on corporate social responsibility.
