Restoration of the Daintree Rainforest and supporting the Eastern Kuku Yalanji Bama people are the reason for HalfCut's existence. Having identified the opportunity to heal country and heal culture, the next challenge was to find meaningful partnerships to help spread awareness and raise funds.
There was a need to find partners with alignment to the cause, to ensure a genuine collaboration, which would integrate the voice of the traditional owners. The challenge was not just about raising funds but creating a partnership that would drive real change in environmental conservation and Indigenous empowerment.
The Solution
HalfCut and Ben & Jerry's embarked on a journey to form a partnership that went beyond traditional corporate-charity collaborations. Through Ben & Jerry's leadership, driven by a commitment to social and environmental impact, HalfCut was selected due to their innovative Heal Country, Heal Culture program. The creative collaboration involved Ben & Jerry's employees participating in the workplace setting with in store activities, fostering strong connections and pride.
The Results
Ben & Jerry's team members have shown commitment to the shared values of the partnership, facilitating outstanding results. Since its inception in 2020, a total contribution of $239,041. Employee engagement is increasing year on year, hitting 75% of employees fundraising for the cause. These metrics are a testament to the effective and creative collaboration between the two organisations, which is making significant strides in environmental conservation and cultural preservation.
