About Macpherson Kelley
Macpherson Kelley is a commercial law firm focused on the mid market with offices in Brisbane, Dandenong, Melbourne and Sydney. Established in 2016, their workplace giving program reflects the firms dedication to supporting employees and local communities through structured charitable contributions. The Challenge
Macpherson Kelley faced several challenges, including making employees feel that their individual contributions were significant amidst global and local events and rising cost of living pressures. Additionally, ensuring that each employee-selected impact area was addressed through the granting process posed another significant challenge.
The Solution
Macpherson Kelley decided to address these challenges by enhancing their workplace giving program. Established in 2016, the program allows employees to donate to selected impact areas directly from their payroll, with Macpherson Kelley matching these contributions up to $2,000 per employee annually. The decision to boost the program stemmed from a desire to foster a sense of collective impact and community engagement among employees. 'The collective approach to giving in our workplace is something I am proud to be a part of. It encourages a positive workplace culture,' said a Macpherson Kelley staff member. The program not only allowed employees to contribute to causes they cared about but also amplified the impact of their donations through company matching, making each contribution more significant.
